Foundations of Diplomacy Pre-Master's course
This intensive six-month course provides a thorough grounding in diplomatic theory and contemporary practice, with thought-provoking seminars taught by experts in international relations, political economy, and public international law. Learning will also involve study visits to various organisations in London including diplomatic missions, Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office, Cabinet Office and NGOs. There is also a three-day European field trip to Austria visiting a number of international agencies, the Austrian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the British Embassy in Vienna, and the Austrian Centre for Peace in Schlaining.
Suitable for students with no previous knowledge of diplomacy, politics or international relations, the course is especially relevant for those considering a career in diplomacy or intending to work for a government ministry, NGO or international organisation.
